PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pipe length measuring method and its apparatus, capable of measuring the length of a pipe and finding its tip position. SOLUTION: The pipe length measuring method measures the length of the pipe 1, from one end of the pipe 1 up to an open end 1a of a pipe tip by means of microwaves. Microwave is transmitted into the pipe from the one end of the pipe 1, and the microwave reflected from the pipe tip is received by a microwave transmitting and receiving apparatus 2, and the length of the pipe 1 is measured.
