<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitoring object area setting method whereby a monitoring object area can easily be set to discriminate whether or not a discrimination object is located at a position for satisfying a prescribed condition over a position of a mobile terminal. <P>SOLUTION: The method sets an area A to discriminate whether or not a mobile phone 1 is located at a position satisfying a prescribed condition over a position P1 of a mobile phone 1A by using the position P1 of the mobile phone 1A for the center of the area. Thus, the monitoring processing aiming at the area A moved with the mobile phone 1A can be executed by having only to carry out area setting processing at once.
