PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a television receiver integral with a DVD recording/reproducing device capable of viewing a broadcast program immediately after a power supply is turned on even while a DVD recording/reproducing device part is initialized. SOLUTION: A CPU41 sets a video signal selecting part 47 to select composite signal (a) outputted from an amplifying/detecting circuit 46 when a power supply is turned on. Meanwhile, a CPU21 initializes a recording/reproducing part 26 or the like. After the initialization is completed, the CPU21 sets a video encoder 31 to encode the digitized broadcast video signal which is inputted to the video encoder 31 through a signal path 33, for outputting Y/C signal (f), meanwhile it transmits an initialization complete report to the CPU41. The CPU41, receiving the initialization complete report, sets the video selecting part 47 to select the Y/C signal (f) outputted from the video encoder 31. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
