PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform validation for near infrared spectrometry easily and prevent damage to a reference sample. SOLUTION: The attachment for validation 10, which is loaded into a sample chamber of an infrared spectrophotometer, is provided with a reference sample changer 20 which allows a variety of reference samples to be successively located in the position onto which measurement light by a regular reflection optical system is focused. When performing validation, with the progress of measurement and processing by a validation execution program, a control signal is supplied to a motor 23, and a sample holder 21 rotates to allow a desired reference sample to be located in a measurement position. Thereby, an operator just has to load the attachment for validation 10 into the sample chamber and give instructions to execute.
