PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To precisely control a carburizing condition to a predetermined one, when charging a component 2 to be treated into a carburizing chamber 1, controlling the inside of the carburizing chamber to a carburization atmosphere containing a carburization gas, and heating the temperature of the component to a predetermined carburizing temperature while measuring the temperature of it with a radiation thermometer, and keeping it at the carburization temperature for an appropriate period of time to carburize the component. SOLUTION: The method includes controlling the inside of the carburizing chamber to a lower pressure during a heating process before the component to be treated reaches the carburizing temperature than during a carburizing process after the component has reached the carburizing temperature, so as to inhibit carburization during the heating process.
