PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink supply system which can supply ink to an inkjet recording head along with a predetermined range of back pressure, and which can enhance the use efficiency and storage efficiency of the ink. SOLUTION: In this ink supply system, an ink tank 36 and a recording head part 11, which can be separated from each other, are connected together. A main ink chamber 13 for directly holding the ink 15 in a free state is formed in the ink tank 36. The main ink chamber is connected to a buffer ink chamber 30 on the side of the head part 11, and communicates with a recording nozzle 12 via the ink chamber 30. The ink chamber 30 communicates with an ink chamber 31 for retraction via the hole provided with an ink absorbing member 32.
