PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noise reduction method and a noise reduction structure for a sound source structured body, which can obtain sufficient damping, namely, noise reduction effect. SOLUTION: A damping paint layer 20 as a first layer is provided on a damping object surface of a transmission case which is the sound source structured body, and a damping member 30, of which the expansion and contraction characteristics in the surface direction of the damping object surface which are different from those of the first layer, is laminated as a second layer on the outside of the first layer.
