<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surface light source device with which screen glares and brightness unevenness of the screen can be suppressed when it is used for displaying images of a liquid crystal display device or the like. <P>SOLUTION: As for the surface light source device provided with a light-emitting part 22 in which LEDs or the like are used and a light-guide plate 23 with which the emitted light from the light-emitting part 22 is guided and spread to the whole light-emitting face, numerous deflection patterns 34 are installed on the back face of the light-guide plate 23, and light is made to be emitted from the light-emitting face of the light-guide plate 23 by reflecting the light in the light-guide plate 23 with the deflection pattern 34. Here, as for the deflection pattern 34, the arrangement point (Rm, θm) of the deflection pattern is expressed as the following formulae when a polar coordinate in which the center point arranged near a corner part of the light-guide plate is made to be the starting point is designed: Rm=Rm-1+(1/Rm-1) θm=θm-1+137.5° (a proviso, Ro>0). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
