PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double sun gear type planetary gear mechanism capable of realizing a planetary gear mechanism comprising two sun gears. SOLUTION: In this planetary gear mechanism, a third carrier C3 is composed of a first carrier plate 3 and a second carrier plate 4 respectively supporting a pinion shaft 6 of a third pinion P3, a plate supporting part 33 for fixing the first carrier plate 3 and the second carrier plate 4 is located at a radial outer side with respect to a third sun gear S3 and a fourth sun gear S4 between the third pinions P3.
