PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a miniaturizable and cost-reducible Doppler direction finder having excellent reliability and durability, and dispensing with an adjustment by a skilled technology or the like, and to provide an azimuth detection method. SOLUTION: A center element 4 is erected on the center of a ground plate 3, and a plurality of peripheral elements 5 are erected on the circumference having a constant radius from the center. A variable reactance circuit 6 is connected to each peripheral element 5, respectively. Then, a reactance value of the variable reactance circuit 6 is controlled by using a variable reactance control part 8, and a single peripheral element 5 radially coupled with the center element 4 is moved successively along the circumference. Hereby, since an FM wave Sa2 by a Doppler effect can be generated in an arrival signal Sa received from the center element 4, the arrival azimuth of the arrival signal Sa can be detected by detecting the phase difference between a demodulated signal of the FM wave Sa2 and a control signal of the peripheral element 5.
