PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flush gate capable of quickly carrying even solid foreign matter such as sediment to the downstream side, by reducing fluid resistance by a valve element, in overturning operation of the valve element for flush washing, even if the flush gate is arranged in a waterway having a flat bottom part. SOLUTION: This flush gate has the valve element 2 having a lower end part pivoted on a gate part in the vicinity of the bottom part of the waterway and freely rockable between a rising water cut-off attitude for blocking up the waterway and an overturning attitude for opening the waterway, a float chamber 20 attached with a float, making water of the waterway flow in in the rising water cut-off attitude and draining the water in the overturning attitude, and an attitude switching mechanism 3 for allowing rocking to the overturning attitude by releasing a holding part 30 when reaching a flush performing water level by interlocking with the float. The valve element is constituted so that an opposed surface of the valve element becomes flush with a bottom surface of the waterway in the overturning attitude. The float chamber 20 is composed of a protective mechanism 21 formed of a bar screen 21A and a porous plate for protecting the float while allowing a flow of the water along a reverse surface of the valve element 2.
