PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever device by which the thickness of a strength gate member can be ensured more than a conventional one even when a moving amount of the upper end of a shift knob is made smaller. SOLUTION: This shift lever device 10 has a base 20, a shift lever 30 which can move in a shifting direction and a selecting direction to the base 20, a supporting member 40, and a link 50. In this case, the supporting member 40 supports the shift lever 30 in a manner to be movable in parallel in the selecting direction, and moves in the shifting direction to the base 20 together with the shift lever 30 when the shift lever 30 moves in the shifting direction. The link 50 is equipped with confronted wall sections 52 which extend in the selecting direction, and between which the shift lever 30 is positioned. Also, the link 50 turns in the shifting direction to the base 20 by being pressed by the shift lever 30 when the confronted wall sections 52a move the shift lever 30 in the shifting direction.
