PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conical clutch of a synchronizer for a transmission having stable friction performance and long service life by small amount of friction material. SOLUTION: A synchronizer ring 1 is composed of a steel-made base ring 2 and a plurality of block-like friction members 3 being separate from the base ring 2 and made of different material. A plurality of fitting channels 24 are formed at an interval in the circumferential direction along the direction of central axial line on a conical face 23 at the inner periphery of the base ring 2. Conical friction faces 32 having slightly smaller radius of curvature than that of the conical face 23 of the base ring 2 are formed in the plurality of block-like friction members 3 arranged in the plurality of fitting channels 24 of the base ring 2. By pressing the conical friction faces 32 of the plurality of block-like friction members 3 against friction faces on a synchronized mate side, slide resistance is generated between the conical friction face 32 of the friction member 3 and the friction face on the synchronized mate side to reduce speed of a rotary body.
