PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a one sided substrate terminal type liquid crystal element in which corrosion of wiring is certainly prevented and which is excellent in reliability. SOLUTION: Scanning electrodes 5 and signal electrodes 7 are arranged in mutually vertically intersecting directions on respective opposing surfaces of a pair of glass substrates 1, 2 bonded to each other with a sealing material 3 composed of an anisotropic conductive adhesive containing conductive particles 3a. A connection terminal 6a of a scanning side lead wire 6 taken out from a scanning electrode 5 of the glass substrate 1 side, and a terminal to be connected of a connection wire 9 arranged on the glass substrate 2 to electrically connect the scanning electrode 5 to a driver chip 4 arranged on an extended part 2a of the substrate of the glass substrate 2 side, are conductively connected via the conductive particles 3a in the sealing material 3. Here, the connection wire 9 is taken out from the terminal 9a to be connected to the inside of the sealing material 3 and arranged so as to run inside a liquid crystal seal region.
