<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a golf club shaft by which a head speed of the shaft is increased to realize a swing without feeling of incompatibility. <P>SOLUTION: A golf club shaft 10 has a plurality of flexural-rigidity-reduced regions R1 to R3 each disposed adjacently to a side rearward from a corresponding local maximum-value point P1 to P3 in flexural rigidity in a full length of the golf club shaft 10 from a tip 11 thereof where a head is mounted to a butt 12 thereof where a grip is mounted. Each of the flexural-rigidity-reduced regions R1 to R3 has a flexural rigidity value lower than a flexural rigidity value (maximum value) Yp1 to Yp3 of the corresponding local maximum-value point P1 to P3 in flexural rigidity.
