The proposed method for diagnosing acute pyelonephritis in patients with diabetes mellitus consists in determining the content of leukocytes on the patient's blood, the duration of the disease, and the type of the diabetes, and the content of haemoglobin and erythrocytes, determining the amount of numbers that corresponds to each of the said parameters from the specified table, determining the total amount of numbers, and diagnosing the serous inflammatory process if the total amount of numbers is up to -3.0, purulent inflammatory process if the total amount of numbers is more than +3.0, and risk of the disease if the total amount of numbers is -3.0 ... +3.0.
