<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spontaneous light display device for substantially performing dual scanning drive by one data driver. <P>SOLUTION: The spontaneous light display device comprises a plurality of scanning lines K1, K2, ... arranged in a lateral direction, a plurality of data lines A1, A2, ... arranged in a vertical direction by being intersected with the scanning lines, and a plurality of light emitting elements Ra11, Rb11, ... arranged in the intersection region of the scanning lines and the data lines. Cathode terminals of the lighting emitting elements connecting anode terminals to the two adjacent data lines A1 and A2 respectively are connected to different scanning lines successively. Any two of the scanning lines are simultaneously scanned and selected. Thereby since emission duty of each EL element can be made substantially two times, instant emission brightness of each EL element can be set low, and stress to the EL elements can be relieved.
