<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of selecting any one of subscanning lengths of two or more sizes relative to the main scanning width of roll paper. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus includes a paper feed tray for storing a roll paper, a roll paper cutting means 15, an operation part using keys, and an operation part display 1 using an LCD or LED. In the image forming apparatus, by using a regular size setting means, regular sizes that have the same scanning width but are made distinct by different subscanning lengths are set for each roll paper of the same width through the operation part.
