TWO-DIMENSIONAL COIL ASSEMBLY FOR GENERATING PARTICULAR MAGNETIC FIELD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To design a two-dimensional coil for generating a desired particular magnetic field to use in a magnetic resonance imaging equipment. SOLUTION: A two-dimensional coil assembly with DSV whose center sets offset distance by a distance D from the origin of an x-y-z coordinate system is disclosed. The above-mentioned origin of the x-y-z coordinate system conforms to the center of a coil configuration. The distance D should be 10-20 centimeters or more orders. The two-dimensional coil assembly can be utilized in an MRI practical example which decreases the feeling of claustrophobia a patient receives. The assembly can promote the visualization of various sorts of joints including a wrist, an elbow, a heel, or a knee. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
