PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide architecture which executes random and sequential access, processing at high speed in a data base system which stores, retrieves and updates data in a computer system. SOLUTION: This high speed data base system is constituted so as to directly convert a key into a record number or a record address in process of one or a plurality of times using a conversion data set 11 and to access an applicable record of a real data base 12 in which data is stored.
