PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which can prevent noise, nonuniform rotation, etc., during the rotations of the rollers. SOLUTION: The fixing device employs a system in which a fixing belt 32 is endlessly stretched around a heat roller 28 and a fixing roller 24, a pressure roller 26 is brought into firm contact with the fixing roller 24, and a recording medium is passed through the rotating contact part of the fixing roller 24 and pressure roller 26. The outer diameter of the fixing roller 24 is not made equal to that of the pressure roller 26. That is, the outer diameter of the pressure roller 26 is made smaller than the outer diameter of the fixing roller 24, or the outer diameter of the pressure roller 26 is made larger than the outer diameter of the fixing roller 24.
