PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for replenishing a color developing solution for a silver halide color photosensitive material by which, in creation of a digital color proof using the silver halide color photosensitive material, variation of color tone and variation of density liable to occur in running processing are suppressed and an image with excellent color reproducibility can stably be obtained and to provide a dot area image forming method. SOLUTION: In the method for replenishing a color developing solution for a silver halide color photosensitive material in which, in running processing of the silver halide color photosensitive material having at least two silver halide emulsion-containing photosensitive layers on a support, a color development replenisher is replenished on the basis of at least quantity corresponding to the amount of developed silver produced by the silver halide emulsion and the processing area of the silver halide color photosensitive material, the replenishment quantity of the color development replenisher corresponding to the amount of developed silver is changed in accordance with running processing speed.
