PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of more surely attaining the suppression of noise generated from a black stripe that may be formed on paper, at a low cost. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus forming an image on paper on the basis of image data includes: an image read means for reading contents of an original at a plurality of read positions capable of deciding a relative positional relation among prescribed fixing members in the image forming apparatus; a report means for recording the result of reading of the contents of the original on the paper by the image read means at the plurality of read positions; a setting means for setting the inhibition of the reading of the contents of the original at one or more of the plurality of read positions; and a storage means for storing the positions to which the inhibitions of the reading are set by the setting means.
