PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive support body for an electrophotographic photoreceptor, for which an abrasive and shavings are prevented from being stuck to the surface of a honed conductive support body. SOLUTION: When the conductive support body for an electrophotographic photoreceptor is manufactured using aluminum or aluminum alloy having a Brinell hardness HB(10/500) of≤50 as a material, a honing unit with a means for honing process of the conductive support body is controlled, in such a way that the pressure of the internal atmosphere of the honing unit is kept lower than that of a cleaning unit for cleaning the conductive support body.
