<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase a total throughput when an image recording is performed by an insertion function wherein a plain paper sheet is inserted between transmission type recording mediums and is output. <P>SOLUTION: When the image recording by the insertion function wherein the plain paper is inserted between the transmission type recording mediums and is output is indicated, as the process mode, a mode for performing an image recording to the transmission type recording medium is set (S101).
