PURPOSE:To improve the performance of car start by making a speed change smaller when a car is started with an airconditioner operating and controlling engine speed at a high level with a delayed speed change. CONSTITUTION:In speed change control by a control unit 40 for a belt type continuously variable transmission, output signals from each sensor 41-44 are first read in, and actual car speed (i) is obtained by an actual speed calculation part 45, while a target speed change ratio (is) obtained by a target speed change retrieval part 46. Then, changed speed di/dt is obtained by a speed change calculation part 48, and the values of the speed so obtained and (i) are used to obtain a duty ratio D for application to the solenoid valve 28 of a speed change control system. In this case, when car start has been detected by a car start detecting part 53 and an air conditioner switch 52 has been turned 'ON', a factor set by a factor setting part 47 is made smaller than said factor (k), thereby reducing the value of di/dt and delaying a speed change. |
