PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thick film polyimide sheet of a 80-1,000μm thickness and of a low linear expansion coefficient and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The method for producing the thick film polyimide sheet of a 80-1,000μm thickness comprises application of polyamic acid vanish before imidization and imidization of the vanish by drying after reducing a remaining solvent contained in the vanish to a level of not more than 5 represented by a number of molecule per a repeated unit of the polyamic acid.
