PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a zoom lens constituted so that the extending amount of a focusing moving lens group may be small, and may be constant whether a magnification conversion optical system is inserted or pulled out, made excellent in follow-up ability or operability in manual variable power operation, realizing manual and automatic focusing, having a high zoom ratio and miniaturized. SOLUTION: The zoom lens is equipped with a variable power moving lens group V and the focusing moving lens group F2 constituting the partial system of a lens group R positioned nearer to an image side than the lens group V, and has the magnification conversion optical system which can be inserted and pulled out nearer to the image side than the focusing moving lens group.
