A method of measuring cholesterol in high density lipoproteins contained in a specimen characterized by comprising reacting the specimen with i) cholesterol ester hydrolase and cholesterol oxidase, or ii) cholesterol ester hydrolase, an oxidized coenzyme and cholesterol dehydrogenase in an aqueous medium containing i) a nonionic surfactant, a polyanion and albumin, or ii) a polyoxyethylene alkylamine or a polyoxyethylene alkenylamine and a polyoxyethylene polycyclic phenyl ether sulfate or an anionic bile acid derivative, and then measuring the thus formed hydrogen peroxide or reduced coenzyme, and a reagent therefor. |
