<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable identification of the endogenic element involved in neuroprotection or neuron remodeling. <P>SOLUTION: It is found that the delayed expression of Nedd9 and FAK has an important function in the neuron remodeling after ischemic lesion, and further, Nedd9 promotes a neurite formation independently of NGF. According to the above finding, there are provided a pharmaceutical composition containing an Nedd9 protein and a pharmaceutical composition containing an FAK protein besides the Nedd9 protein. The composition can be used for treating neuropathy and neurodegenerative disease, specifically ischemic diseases such as transient global brain ischemia and cerebral stroke. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
