PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image processing apparatus capable of easily carrying out comparison. SOLUTION: The image processing apparatus receives a composite document obtained by composing a coded image resulting from coding data to generate a document image for a processing object, the data being formed with a first class pattern including at least one pattern comprising pixel blocks whose size is a first prescribed size or below, with the document image, and uses a decoded document image, the decoded document image being generated by eliminating pixel blocks whose size is smaller than a predetermined size from the composite document, for the comparison with the document image of the processing object generated on the basis of the coded image included in the composite document.
