The road vehicle has two seats (9,9') mounted side-by-side. The seats are mounted on frames (2) and have pivoted seatbacks (1,1'). There is a swiveling mechanism (5) on either side attached to or adjacent to the sidewall (13,14) of the vehicle. The linkage may slide along rails (8) set on the floor (6) and there are fixed bearings (3,3') which may be released. There are bearing blocks (20) at the ends of the rails.
