Two-channel unit with digital signalling input stage and digital control output stage

Two-channel unit (1) with input side digital messaging stages (MS0-MS07) for a safety-technology arrangement. The unit has two controllers (2a, 2b) that are controlled by a safety computer, a test circuit (5) for checking the messaging stages and independent serial buses (6) for linking the various components. Potential isolation (6a) of the serial buses is provided by optical couplers. The latter have power-loss limiting. An independent claim is made for a two-channel unit with output side digital command stages.
