<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a composition for refractories (such as brick) which gives refractories having a high residual carbon content when kneaded, increased refractory strength after firing, and low porosity. <P>SOLUTION: The composition for refractories comprises: novolac type phenol resin or resol type phenol resin; a phosphine compound having an aromatic group on a phosphor atom such as 9, 10-dihydroxy-9-oxa-10-phosphaphenanthrene-10-oxide and the derivatives thereof; and refractory aggregate such as alumina, magnesia, silicon carbide, dolomite flaky graphite, and earthy graphite. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
