<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle security control device which carries out locking/unlocking control of a locking device, based on the intensity of a signal transmitted from a transmitter 1 and received by a receiver 7, wherein power consumption of the receiver which is held on continuous standby in order to receive the signal, is reduced, to thereby achieve power saving operation. <P>SOLUTION: With respect to the standby mode, the receiver 7 is set in first and second standby modes in which a continuous standby mode is intermittently shifted to a standby terminated mode if a signal has not been received over a long period of time. Further the receiver 7 is set in a standby terminated mode if a signal has not been received over a further longer period of time.
