PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printing apparatus which can automatically recognize a size of sheets easily set in the printing apparatus equipped with a printing head in a direction straight to a transfer direction of the sheets. SOLUTION: The printing apparatus has a guide means for moving the sheet from one end or both ends of the sheet in a width direction.
