A computing unit (CU) determines the size (lx1) of a parking space (PS) (11). Devices detect the current position of a motor vehicle (1). A communications device passes data/instructions about parking to the vehicle's transversal swinging arm. The CU uses the PS determined size to set the parking route (10) in advance.
