A hook assembly for use on a garment hanger includes a sleeve integral wi th or attached to a top member of the hanger, a hook for suspending the hanger from a support, a shaft extending downwardly from the hook through the sleeve, and a pin extending diametrically through the bottom end of the shaft into radially extending grooves in the bottom end of the sleeve for retaining the hook in one positi on in the sleeve. The shaft is slidable and rotatable in the sleeve, so that the orientation of the hook assembly relative to the sleeve can be adjusted.
