PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dark coloring agent composition readily recovering the color of clothes discolored by repetition, etc., of washing, especially dark color clothes such as black or navy blue at general home. SOLUTION: The dark coloring agent composition comprises (a) solid fine particles having an average particle diameter within the range of 1 nm to 2μm and a refractive index within the range of 1.3-2.0 and (b) a nonionic surfactant having 3-9 HLB. The content of the component (a) is 2.5-50 wt.% and the content of the component (b) is 0.5-10 wt.%. The weight ratio [(a)/(b)]of the components (a) to (b) is (30/1) to (5/1).
