Process for producing ceramic products, especially tiles, comprises preparing a material mixture out of clay and/or lime, and additives, forming a blank using an extrusion press, cutting the tiles to length, drying and firing. The additive is used to adjust the porosity and contains e.g. sawdust and/or polystyrene and/or straw etc. The additive contains at least one combustible organic and/or inorganic waste material whose energy can be released after the preheating zone.
