PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent unnecessary deterioration of carrying property and operability and to prevent the unnecessary increase in the manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: This wheelchair is provided with a tilt mechanism 10 in a frame body 3 which connects a seat and a backrest to each other while retaining guide wheels 1 and main wheels 2. The tilt mechanism 10 is formed by having leg members 11 retained to the frame body 3 and vertically tilting or extending/contracting and, when the leg members 11 are tilt or extended and the main wheels 2 make their lower ends ground the grounding surface G to be grounded, the frame body 3 is tilted around the rotating shaft 34 of the main wheels 2 so as to make the guide wheels 1 float from the grounding surface G.
