Novel cytokine polypeptides, materials and methods for making them, and method of use are disclosed. The polypeptides comprise at least nine contiguous amino acid residues of SEQ ID NO:2, and may be prepared as polypeptide fusions comprise heterologous sequences, such as affinity tags. The polypeptides and polynucleotides encoding them may be used within a variety of therapeutic, diagnostic, and research applications.
