The invention relates to a small-sized optical disk for data storing and reading, which belongs to high-density digital optical storing technical field. The small-sized optical disk including a positioning hole in the rotation center of the disk, a substrate layer, a covering layer and an information recording layer. The substrate layer, the covering layer and the information-recording layer are overriding. The disk has a diameter of 5mm-76mm, the positioning hole has a diameter of O.1 mm-15mm. The thickness of the disk is 0.2mm-1.3mm, in which the thickness of the covering layer may be O.Olrnm-l.Omm. The small-sized optical disk of the invention has smaller area than the conventional disk, therefore sufficiently supports the potential development of storing. It can be a read-only optical disk, a write-once optical disk, a rewritable optical disk, and so on, which is used in optical information pickup/recording apparatus or other information pickup/recording mechanism adapting for the disk to store and read data.
