<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a component supply method in an electronic component mounting device where erroneous mounting due to incorrect selection of components in splicing work can securely be prevented. <P>SOLUTION: In the electronic component mounting device, an electronic component is taken out from a component supply by a transfer head and it is mounted on a substrate. At the time of splicing a carrier tape, component information is stored in the splicing front component memory region 31b of a component information storage 31. When a splicing part is detected in a tape feeding process, component information on the newly supplied carrier tape is confirmed by referring to the component information storage 31. It is judged whether component supply is continued or not by a confirmation result.
