PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic photoreceptor suitable for liquid development, having high sensitivity and durability. SOLUTION: An electrophotographic photoreceptor, having a photosensitive layer formed using a binder resin containing a charge generating agent and an electron transport agent on a conductive substrate, is used as the electrophotographic photoreceptor for liquid development, wherein a compound having at least one nitro group, two or more carboxyl groups, or two or more acyl groups in its molecule is used as the electron transport agent. When image formation is repeated by liquid development with a wet developer, using a paraffinic solvent or the like, elution of the charge transport agent into the paraffinic solvent and deterioration in the photosensitive layer can be inhibited.
