PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improver removal of powder remaining on the electrophotographic sensitive material, even when using not only a pulverized toner but also a polymerized toner. SOLUTION: A support of the cleaning blade is connected to one surface of the cleaning blade, while a suppressor plate is kept in contact with the other surface of the blade. Setting the distance from the edge of the cleaning blade to the edge of the suppressor by "L1", and the distance from the edge of the cleaning blade to the edge of the support by "L2", their relation is made "L1<L2"; as a result of this arrangement, the suppressor plate prevents the cleaning blade from vibrating and warping locally, when it comes into contact with the conductive photosensitive material. Accordingly, the edge of the cleaning blade is kept in close contact with the surface of the electrophotographic sensitive material, resulting in improved cleaning. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
