<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device capable of carrying out double-surface printing even if a record medium is conveyed in an approximately horizontal direction and an image is formed. <P>SOLUTION: The image formation device 10 has an image formation device body 12 for storing an image carrier 50 or the like and a detachable inversion conveying unit 14 is provided on an upper part of the image formation device body 12. A first conveying passage 24 is formed on an upper part of the image formation device body 12 by the image formation device body 12 and the inversion conveying unit 14. The first conveying passage 24 is a record medium passage from a pick-up roll 22 to a discharge port 26 and approximately horizontally formed from a first record medium feed device 20 to the discharge port 26. A discharge inversion roll 30 is arranged near the discharge port 26 of the first conveying passage 24 and is normally and reversely rotated.
