<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make an apparatus adapted to high-speed traveling by providing a simple structure at low cost without making the apparatus larger, in the hydraulic power steering apparatus for changing steering assist power in accordance with a driving condition such as vehicle speed. <P>SOLUTION: A control valve 30 controls the oil pressure of pressure oil supplied to a hydraulic actuator 20 for generating steering assist power in accordance with the amount of elastic relative rotation between input and output shafts 2, 3. A restricting means 50 for restricting relative rotation between the input and output shafts 2, 3 in accordance with the driving condition of a vehicle adjusts the oil pressure for pressing one of the input and output shafts 2, 3, by a plunger and a lever member 53 supported by either of the input and output shafts 2, 3, in accordance with the driving condition of the vehicle, by means of an oil pressure adjustment mechanism 60. A force to press the other of the input and output shafts 2, 3 by a pressing part of the lever member 53 on the basis of a force applied to a pressure receiving part of the lever member 53 is made lager than the force applied to the pressure receiving part of the lever member 53 on the basis of the oil pressure adjusted by the oil pressure adjustment mechanism 60. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
