Disclosed is a multilayer body having a layered structure wherein a carboxyl group-containing polymer layer and a layer containing a polyvalent metal compound are arranged adjacent to at least one side of a polymer base. The layer containing a polyvalent metal compound contains particles of the polyvalent metal compound, a binder resin and a surfactant. Also disclosed is a method for producing such a multilayer body.
