<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system or a technique capable of automatic driving in a category of road traffic control where roads and vehicle groups are treated as an integrated system. <P>SOLUTION: An automatic drive dedicated road is divided by a certain length, and a short-range wireless communication device transmitting a signal to a vehicle proceeding into each section is installed. A signal control center performing systematic operation of the signal is installed, and it is connected with the short-range wireless communication device via a communication line. A driving speed limit signal is transmitted to the vehicle, and adjusts in response to a present state of the vehicle so that a following vehicle decelerates to decrease the driving speed when the following vehicle is close to a preceding vehicle, or so that the following vehicle accelerates to increase the driving speed when the preceding vehicle moves away from the following vehicle. The vehicle includes various apparatuses necessary for automatic driving to perform driving speed control and course control of the vehicle by the signal received from the short-range wireless communication device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
